I am finally back and have some life updates too!

Hello Everyone,

Yes, I am finally back - managed to get my Internet connection fixed and also got some inspiration in me to write some posts. happy So, you will be seeing regular posts from my side from now onward. But for the time being, this post will be a simple and short post with some updates from my side.

So, my readers and friends in the blogging world, many of you must have often seen and read about a certain Le BF in my blog. And, if you remember then the news that I have to share with you is that this particular Purplenista is very soon going to get engaged to the Le BF. big grin Phew!! For some reason, I suddenly went all shy writing that one single sentence. blushing

Now, keeping this news in mind, I wanted to ask you, my dear readers, whether you would want to see a new section in my blog that would focus on how I am going about planning my wedding? I got the inspiration for this section from the lovely Sukanya of the Makeup and Beauty Lounge blog. I loved reading her Bridal Diaries section and her posts are definitely helping me a lot for planning my wedding. happy

So, Do let me know if you what you guys think. Can't wait to hear from you.

xoxo

Things I create - Jamini Roy Paintings

Painting, sketching and drawing have always been one of my favorite hobbies. It has always helped to calm and reduce stress levels whenever I am completely stressed out. However, this time around I decided to create something for a bare wall in my new apartment. After thinking a lot about what to paint, I decided to create a rendition of one of Jamini Roy's paintings to adorn the bare wall in my living/bedroom.

Here's a little about Jamini Roy for those who are not into paintings and artists. :)

Jamini Roy was one of the famous Bengali contemporary artists of India. He is famously known for his bold sweeping brush-strokes. His style of painting was essentially a reaction against the Bengal School of art and Western traditions. His style of painting primarily reflected three aspects: to capture the essence of simplicity embodied in the life of the folk people; to make art accessible to a wider section of people; and to give Indian art its own identity. His work has been exhibited extensively in international exhibitions and can be found in many private and public collections such as the Victoria and Albert Museum, London.

I know my painting is not as fine as Jamini Roy's, but I hope I was able to do justice to his artwork.

PS - Sorry for the bad pictures. I used my phone camera for these and it is not very good. I need to get my hands on a better camera for the blog pictures.

Loneliness

Albert Einstein once remarked, "It is strange to be known so universally and yet to be so lonely."

Loneliness is one strange emotion that everyone feels quite often in life. it is the fear of loneliness that affect all human beings and it is because of this particular fear that human beings are in an eternal quest for companionship. it is for this simple reason that we all are so keen on making friends where ever we go and also so keen to treasure these relations that we make. The sense of having friends, relatives and loved ones gives you a sense of security that you have people to talk to, you have people to rely on and people to love.

However, there are often quite a number of times when you might just be surrounded with tons of people and yet feel so damn lonely! It's not that you are not surrounded by friends, you might just have your closest friends with you but you just can't help feeling lonely. it's such a strange case but you just can's help feeling like that. i sometimes do identify with what Albert Einstein is trying to convey through his remark and often wonder what does a person do at that time??? how does he come out of this peculiar case of loneliness? Is it because he can't identify with that person or that situation? Or is it universal and everyone goes through it?

My best friend told me that it might be because you don't want to be surrounded by a particular group of people. Then if you don't want to be surrounded by your friends and family who do you want to be surrounded with???

Hmmmmm........too many questions and no ansewers at all.

Scattered Pieces

This is something I had written a long long time ago. A really bad time that I would like to forget, but should admit, it did a really good thing for my writing. I know it is nothing to do with fashion, but I am aiming to make a blog much more than that. So, here is the poem. Would love to know what you guys think about it.

Scattered Pieces

Pieces here,
Pieces there,
Pieces of the heart everywhere,
Sad pieces, Miserable pieces,
Scattered, Scattered everywhere.

Lost to Me,
Lost to my world,
Lost forever and ever.

Broken by Love,
Broken by Life,
Broken by Everyone,
Whom one could ever dearly Love.

Lost to Me,
Lost to my world,
Lost forever and ever.

Pieces sawed apart,
Pieces torn apart,
And pieces ripped apart.
Sad pieces, Miserable pieces,
Scattered, scattered everywhere.

No one to find,
No one to gather,
No one to collect,
And no one to bring together.
Sad Pieces, Miserable pieces,
Scattered pieces,
Lost forever and ever.
