You guys must have noticed that over the past few months that there have been very little posts from my side. (Who am I kidding? There were no posts from my side since July! Eeeks. ) This is primarily because of me trying to settle into a new life and of course, the major factor was me being unwell for a considerable amount of time throughout the past few months. Anyways, on my quest of making my health better and making my life stress free (as the doctor advised), I was constantly on the lookout for products (primarily natural) that would help me become better. One such product that I found was Nyassa’s Bath Salts.

Review: Maybelline Turquoise Colossal Kohl
By Raima
Most of us agree that when in a hurry, a quick swipe of lipstick, kajal and mascara with BB cream is the best and easiest option around. It is fast, non-fussy and ideal for running day-to-day errands like going to the supermarket. I’ll admit to this being my stand-by look, something I was getting pretty bored of. So when my Lakme Eyeconic Kajal finally got over, I sent up a small prayer of thanks that I would not have to deal with that horrible thing anymore, (instant panda eyes, tugging etc) and more or less ran to buy the Colossal Kajal that despite its breakage problem as I had found it to be the most suited for me. While I was purchasing it, my eyes fell on the ad for the Turquoise Kohl, I thought, “Hmmm… I was getting bored of the same look. Let’s try this out as well.” I've worn this twice already and will definitely repurchase just to see my eyes pop with the gorgeous colour.

Brain Freeze Your Way to a Cool Summer!
One beverage in the world that I will never get tired off is Coffee. Yes, coffee is one drink that I can have throughout the year and at any time of the day. It is my cheer-me-up, wake-me-up and energize-me-drink and I definitely cannot live without it. Call me an addict, but I often feel coffee is the God sent solution to all problems in the world. In fact, my family and friends often joke around saying that I have coffee running through my veins and not blood. :D In fact, even though I drink as many as 10 cups of coffee (and I mean the straight and dark black kind) a day, I have no issues in falling asleep at night. :D In a nut shell, coffee is everything for me.

Etude House Wonder Pore: The Good, The Bad & The Ugly
You’ll Have to Pry These Products Out of My Cold, Dead Hands
By Raima
Part Two aka a cursory reading of a Buzzfeed list changes life of online shopper
I’d been reading rave reviews of Korean skincare products on almost all blogs from here to Timbuktu and I was eager to jump on the bandwagon myself, but what to buy? Which brand? Then came an article on Buzzfeed list and I read about the Etude House Wonder Pore Freshener and thought, “Hmmmm… Sounds interesting...” Two days later, I placed my order on Jolse. My skin has thanked me ever since.

Kiehl's Blue Herbal Moisturizer - The Good, The Bad & The Ugly
You’ll Have to Pry These Products Out of My Cold, Dead Hands
By Raima
The elders say, “Pride comes before a fall” and like most of their sensible advice, this one also holds true, especially for me. You see, when I was a teenager, I never had a problem with acne EVER. Yes, there were the usual blemishes, a little rosecea maybe once or twice a month, and then also it was one or two at a time, never the face covering ones that basically is the bane of adolescence. You can imagine what happened next, I became proud of my skin, and secretly I preened at my blemish-free face and gloated.
Karma is a b!tch and it got to me. I got married, shifted to Bombay and my skin decided to rebel due to a mix of climatic conditions and a mild case of PCOS. My lovely skin was now dotted with bumps and pimples and redness. Touching my face in the morning felt like touching an oily kadhai that has not been cleaned properly. Moisturizers felt sticky and greasy and I could never find the right one, that would just melt into my skin and not lie on top of it and add to the greasiness. The toner I was using (rose water) was not helping either. My pores were visible from space. There are no before pics because I refused to have my pictures taken during this period. I was literally at my wits end, when two things happened a) I finally decided to walk into the Kiehl’s store in Palladium, and b) I discovered Korean skincare thanks to Buzzfeed and other bloggers.
Yup, it has gone to the stage where I’m trying to squeeze every last bit out Pic Courtesy: Raima |
