Nyassa Himalayan Pink Rejuvenating Bath Salt: The Good, The Bad & The Ugly

You guys must have noticed that over the past few months that there have been very little posts from my side. (Who am I kidding? There were no posts from my side since July! Eeeks.sad worried) This is primarily because of me trying to settle into a new life and of course, the major factor was me being unwell for a considerable amount of time throughout the past few months. Anyways, on my quest of making my health better and making my life stress free (as the doctor advised), I was constantly on the lookout for products (primarily natural) that would help me become better. One such product that I found was Nyassa’s Bath Salts.

Nyassa has a range of five bath salts that are made out of natural sea salt and Epsom salts. Out of the five, one of the salts is made out of pure Himalayan Salt (which is one of the most expensive salts in the world).

I find bath salts to be an amazing all-purpose product. Not only can you use them for aromatherapy, but also as an exfoliator, body and foot soak. The best part of the salts is that they have numerous minerals that are beneficial for your body. Keeping this in mind, I had primarily picked up Nyassa’s Himalayan Pink Bath Salt as it claimed to reduce high blood pressure (which is what is ailing me currently), other than making your skin soft and supple. Let’s see how it performed.

PRODUCT DETAILS:
  • Price: Rs. 300
  • Shelf Life: 2 years
  • Weight: 250gms
  • Ingredients: Himalayan Pink Salt, Epsom Salt, Fragrance
  • Nyassa claims: “Nyassa’s Himalayan pink salt is the best way to take care of your skin during your bath. They contain more than 84 minerals and trace elements like calcium, copper, magnesium, potassium and iron – all good for your skin and body. Regular use of Himalayan pink salt provides proper nutrient absorption, eliminates toxins, normalizes blood pressure, increase circulation, assists with relief from arthritis, skin rashes, flu and fever symptoms.”
As its name suggests, the Himalayan pink salts has a lovely light pink or salmon colour to it. The salts are in a large crystal format, and easily mix in the water and have a lovely fresh fragrance to it. The salts come in a large circular transparent plastic tub that makes it easy to remove the salt from the tub.

The Good:

  • I have used the salt in various methods over the past few months – mixed it in my bath water and even used it as a foot soak and I should add that it is a wonderful product. The salt mixes easily with the water and when you soak your body in it or your feet; you come out feeling relaxed and fresh. My muscle cramps had also reduced.
  • The fragrance is also not very overpowering and lingers on your skin for a few hours even after your bath.
  • The bath salt can be used for all skin types. But, I must add that if you have any open cuts or rashes on your skin, it is advisable to not use the salt while the cuts and rashes are there.
  • The salt is full of minerals and nutrients! I did my research on Himalayan Pink Salt and it is also one of the most nutritious salts in the market! The salt is packed with 84 minerals that are beneficial for health, such as, sulphate, potassium, calcium, fluoride, iodine, manganese, bicarbonate and zinc.
  • The presence of these minerals (which you absorb while soaking or bathing) helps to:
    • Increase hydration
    • Regulate water content both inside and outside of cells
    • Balance pH
    • Relieves stress
    • Prevents muscle cramping
    • Lowers blood pressure
    • Improves blood circulation
    • Aids the intestines to absorb nutrients
    • Prevents goiters.
  • I cannot tell you for certain if this product was solely responsible for lowering my escalating and uncontrollable blood pressure, as I was and still am under medication. However, I think it did help a bit as my pressure had reached a plane (still health risk high) and refused to go down from there. After, I started using the salt; my doctor did notice a drop in the blood pressure. But, like I stated earlier, the drop can be because of the medicines or might be a combination of the two. Whatever be the case, I will advise you to please consult your doctor before you start using the Bath Salts as a method to lower blood pressure.

The Bad:

May tend to dry out skin: But, this is not entirely the products fault. In my enthusiasm of using it as a foot soak, I had kept my feet immersed in the warm water for over 45 minutes and my feet came out dry. tongue Ideally, you should soak your feet in the water for 15 to 30 minutes and not more than that.

didn't find any ugly in this product at all.

My rating: thumbs upthumbs upthumbs upthumbs up.5/5

So, overall I found this product to be awesome! Will definitely buy it again, but before that I might try my hand at making this at home.

Have you guys used the Nyassa Bath Salts or any other bath salts? Do let me know about your experience in the comments.
